Q: How can I start the course?
A: A student will be admitted to e-learning classes once he/she fills an online application form athttp://nibs.ac.ke/elearning/apply/ or by filling an application form in our various campuses countrywide. Students should apply one week before online classes begin.
Q: Can I access these courses from any computer /Tablet /Mobile Phone?
A: Yes, all you will need is an Internet connection and your account login information; you can also access these courses through your tablet, laptops, computers and smartphone using a mobile application which is available in all versions (Windows, Android and IOS).
Q: Where do classes take place?
A: The e-Learning Programme and its courses take place wherever your computer/Smart phone is: at home, at work, on the road — anywhere that you can connect to the Internet.
Q: When does my class meet?
A: There are no actual class times. You can log onto the system whenever it is convenient for you, at any time, day or night, to take a unit,complete a course, or submit your assignments. You do not have to be online at a set time of day.
Q: How to Register?
A: The Office of eLearning will e-mail a registration confirmation to all NIBS students registered for online classes. Students should receive an email confirmation of registration within 2 days of completing NIBS registration. If a student does not receive confirmation, the student should email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance. Students that register through the self-registration also receive an e-mail if there are problems with the registration information.
Q: How to obtain the materials? When will you email me the materials?
A: This is an e-Learning programme; therefore, all courses and units are accessible online. Visit the website www.nibs.ac.ke/elearning and click on to the current student. From the dropdown menu click on Login and thereafter input your username and password.
Q: Who is this e-Learning Programme designed for?
A: This course is designed for individuals who are unable to attend regular classes.
Q: How much time do I need to complete a course?
A: The duration is determined by the Examination series of the examining body and also the student availability and ability to meet the financial obligations. Different courses have different minimum duration to clear the course.
Q: How the courses will be taught?
A: The courses are self-directed. In addition you will have an opportunity to engage in an online forum guided by your tutor. You will be submitting Assignments/CATs on time. Failure to sit for Topic Assignments will lead for students not to progress to the next topic.
Q: How are external exams done?
A: External exams are done on pen and paper model where you have to attend physically to undertake the exams.
Q: How do I book for Exams?
A: You will be advised by the Examination office on the period and amount to be paid.
